57 cows in the perinatal period were used in the experiment. Through clinical symptom and laboratory detection, they were divided into five groups , healthy multiparity cows, healthy primiparity cows, cows with fatty liver disease, cows with ketosis and cows with retention fetal membrance. We tested the blood of the 15, 7, 1 days in antepartum and 1, 7, 15, 22 days postnatally, and determined the levels of the growth hormone, lnsulin-like growth factorâ… , albumin, total protein, urea nitrogen ,malondialdehyde and glutathione peroxidase , hepatocuprein in blood-serum. The data were analyzed statistically. The results showed as followings:1. The levels of the GH and IGF-I in blood serum in each group presented fluctuating were changed essentially during the Perinatal Period. But the levels of GH in the serum of the cows with the diseases were higher than those of the control group in post partum 7 days in the different levels, and the content of IGF-I were lower than those of the control group cows in the different levels.2. Generally, the content changes in the serum ALB of the cows with diseases were most likely with that of the control group, the content of TP were lower than the control group in the different levels. (except for the cows with the retention of fetal membranes).3. The activity of the serum GSH-Px and T-SOD in cows with diseases were lower than those of the control group in the different levels, and the content of MDA were higher than those of the control group in the different levels. It revealed that the serum capability of antioxidation in the cows with disease was lower than those of healthy cows.4. The analysis of the experimental results showed that: the content changes of GH, IGF-I, ALB, TP, BUN, GSH-Px, T-SOD, MDA in cows'serum presented fluctuating changes in the perinatal period. These relationships were closed with negatively balance in energy, aroused body fat and protein metabolic disturbance.
