From June 2006,Herds of pigs of different ages in China had been experienced severe disease that was called "high fever disease"because their high fever, morbidity and mortality. It was already isolated more than ten pathogens from infected pigs include bacteria, virus and parasite. There were different opinions about its pathogen, some one considered it PRRS,some one considered it bacteria, sorne one considered it combined pathogens. Many scientific researchers had investigated this disease from different aspect. In order to gate more information about this disease for prevention and cure, our investigations about "high fever disease" from histopathology blood physiological and biochemical indexes was made.About 100 "high fever disease" infected pigs were autopsied and by histopathotogy examination which collected from Hubei Hunan Jiangxi and Anhui Provence.Interstitial pneumonia can be overviewed in all "high fever disease" infected pigs at the initial stage. Acute lymphadenitis and lymphocytopenia can be overviewed in every "high fever disease" infected pigs.About 35%infected pigs appeared the phenomenon lymphomonocyte infiltrated around small vessels in brain tissue. The interstitial pneumonia, acute lymphadenitis, lymphocytopenia and lymphomonocyte infiltrated around small vessels in brain tissue are general histopathologic changes in PRRS.Thus. there were some identicals in histopathology both "high fever disease" and PRRS.The some comperations were made between healthy pigs and "high fever disease" pigs infected by contact with.During infection blood routine and few blood biochemical indexes were detected in every two days. The results indicated:the WBC,LYM,RBC, HCT and PLT were significant lower in pigs infected "high fever disease" at the initial stage than healthy pigs;the RBC,HCT and PET remained lower level at the later stage, but WBC and NEUT increased. Thus, the "high fever disease" was possibly caused by virus at the initial stage and by bacterium at the later stage. The activeties of ALT,AST,ALE LDH,TP,ALB,CK,γ-GT and BUN were no significant changes at the initial stage of "high fever disease" infected pigs(P>0.05).But at the later stage the activeties of AST,CK and LDH were increased(P<0.05),ALP was decreased(P<0.05).As a result,we may presumed that the pigs infected "high fever disease" had no direct effect on liver and kidney, but the heart was harmed at the later stage.
