In order to explore new wheat germplasm resources,the main agronomic traits and main quality traits of 120 new spring wheat lines from CIMMYT were evaluated. Furthermore,the high-molecular-weight gluten subunit(HMW-GS) and their combinations were examined by SDS-PAGE for 120 new spring wheat lines from CIMMYT.The results are as following:1.The performance of the new spring wheat lines from CIMMYT for agronomic traits was desirable,especially in yield.Most of materials with long awn were rectangular spike,red and full kernel.Their 1000-grain weight,wheat density and yield were high.On average the1000-grain weight was 42.5g,there were 85 materials higher than 40.0g,accounted for 70.8%.The wheat density varied from 784g to 839g,with the mean of 818.98g,the coefficient of variation was only 1.28,it was low. On average the yield was 7220 kg/hm~2,there were 48 higher than CK,accounted for 40.0%,the maximum output reached 9850 kg/hm~2.The plant height was,averagely, 88.5cm.there were 107 were 80.0~100.0cm,accounted for 89.17%.75 germplasm with spikelets per spike more than 13,accounted for 62.5%,95 genetypes with kernel per spike less than 38,accounted for 79.2%.2.The flour protein contents of those materials ranged from 8.9%to 15.8%,with the mean of 12.40%.The sedimentation values ranged from12.00ml to 78.20ml,with the mean of 47.27 ml.The gluten indexes were 48.2~98.5%,averagely,84.0%.The wet gluten contents varied from 14.94%to 34.35%,with the mean of 26.23%.The average(W) values were 206.38 EJ,it ranged from 77EJ to 465 EJ.From the main indexs of quality,the120 materials contained a large number of favorable genetic resources which were lack in Chinese wheat varieties,they could be used as parent materials to improve traits that are closely related to processing quality,and cultivate high-quality wheat variety.3.The correlation analysis results showed that the plant high had significant positive correlations with the spike length,spikelets per spike,1000-grains weight, there were positive correlations between plant high and grains yield.Wet gluten contents were positively significant correlated to the gluten indexes,contents of protein,W values and the sedimentation values.There were many positively significant correlations among sedimentation values and other traits,so the sedimentation values could be used as one of the choice standards for selecting good quality at the stage of the young varieties and lines.There were positive correlations among flexibility and spike length,spikelets per spike.There were positive correlations between wheat density and yield.No significant correlations were detected among most of other agronomic traits and quality ones,which indicated that wheat breeding aim of high yield and good quality were not conflicted.4.High level of genetic variation at Glu-1 locus was observed,14 subunit patterns were detected,resulting in 24 subunit combination.59 carried 5+10 subunit,48 carried 7+8 subunit,30 carried 2~*,10 carried 17+18.The frequency of 5+10 and 2~* in these CIMMYT wheat genetypes,their were higher than chinese varieties;According to the frequency of high quality subunit combination,the highest frequency was 1/7+8/5+10,it was 16.4%,the next one was 2~*/7+8/5+10,it was 9.1%.
