The Huainan Chicken is high-quality varieties in Anhui,It is succulent flavor but slower growth.People were used to add the antibiotics to improve its growth rate,so a large number of antibiotics were residended in chicken body.There were report abort Xylo-oligosaccharides could improve the growth performance and inmmune function on chichens recently,but on Huainan Chicken was not reported.Different doses of Xylo-oligosaccharides were added to basal diets to find the optimum added quantity and study the effect of Xylo-oligosaccharides on the growth performance,immunity function and the flora of cecum in Huainan Chicken.We selected 280 health and uniform Huainan Chicken,and divided them into 4 groups randomly.Namely,the control group(basal diet),the experiment groupⅠ(basal diet plus 100mg/kg xylo-oligosaccharides),the experiment groupⅡ(basal diet plus 150 mg/kg xylo-oligosaccharides),the experiment groupⅢ(basal diet plus 200 mg/kg xylo-oligosaccharides).The test used 42 days from 7-old-day of Huainan Chichen..Body absolute weights(AW),and the ratio of feed to gain(F/G) in all chickens were determined on d 14d,21,35 and 42.Blood samples(8 per group) of chickens were taken from the heart on d 14,21,35,42,for measuring the serum levels of total protein(TP),albumin(ALB),IgG,IgA,IgM,total cholesterol(THL),total superoxide dismutase(T-SOD),triiodothyronine(T3),thyroxin(T4)and growth hormone(GH);and the correspondence weight of the immune organ were determined at the same time.Selected 4 (2 female and 2 male) chickens randomly from each group for colony count on cecum at 21-old-day and 42-old-day of chickens.At the end of the trial,8 chickens(2 per group) were selected for determining their villus height,crypt depth and VH/CD in morphology of duodenum,jejunum,cecum and rectum.The results were as follows:1.The Effect of Xylo-oligosaccharides on the Growth performance in Huainan ChickenIt was not significant on the initial 7-old-day body weight.The body weight of the trial groups were lower than that in the control group in early days and the weight of the test groups were higher than that in the control group in the latter days,but the difference was not significant(P>0.05).Xylo-oligosaccharides can significantly low F/G in Huainan Chicken.Compared with the control group on F/G,experiment groups were lower and the difference was significantly difference(P<0.01 or P<0.05). 2.The Effect of Xylo-oligosaccharides on the immune organs in Huainan ChickenThe experiment groups were lower than control group in the correspondence weight of spleen in 14d and 21d;the test groups had the tendency of increase after 21d,but the difference between them was not significant(P>0.05).Compared with the control group,the experiment groups were lower in correspondence weight of thymus in 14d;the test groups had the tendency of increase in correspondence weight of thymus after 14d;the experiment groupⅡimproved significantly difference at 28d and 35d(P<0.05).Compared with the control group,the experiment groups were increased on correspondence weight on IBD and the experiment groups were increased significantly difference(P<0.01 or P<0.05).3.The Effect of Xylo-oligosaccharides on the blood serum in Huainan ChickenCompared with the control group,the experiment groups increased the total protein and globulin,but the albumin was lower;the difference was not significant(P>0.05).Compared with the control group,the experiment groups were slightly lower on IgG, in 14-old-day,but the experiment groups were higher after 21-old-day;the experiment groups were higher in the entire trial period on IgA and IgM,and differences were significant in 35-old-day and 42-old-day(P<0.05).Compared with the control group,the experiment groups were low on serum total cholesterol in the entire trial period,and differences were significant in 28-old-day and 42-old-day(P<0.05).Compared with the control group,the experiment groups were high on T-SOD,GH,T3, T4 and T3/T4 in the entire trial period,but the difference was not significant(P>0.05).4.The Effect of Xylo-oligosaccharides on the flora of cecum in Huainan ChickenCompared with the control group,the experiment groups inhibited the Bacillus coli and enhanced the Bifidobacterium in the entire trial period,but the difference was not significant(P>0.05).5.The Effect of Xylo-oligosaccharides on mucosal morphology in Huainan ChickenCompared with the control group,the experiment groups increased the villus height of duodenum,jejunum,cecum and rectum,but the difference was not significant(P>0.05); The experiment groups were lower the crypt depth of duodenum and jejunum,but the difference was not significant(P>0.05);the experiment groups increased VH/CD of duodenum,and reached a significant difference(P<0.05);the VH/CD of jejunum of experiment groups is increased,but the difference was not significant(P>0.05). 6.The optimum added quantity of Xylo-oligosaccharides is 150mg/kgThe results showed that Xylo-oligosaccharides could improve the growth performance and inmmune function on Huainan Chicken.It is not only for the healthy breeding and product safety provide valuable reference of Huainan Chicken but also provide theoretical basis for application in animal feeds.
