In this paper,the tested materials were Artemisia frigida willd. which from some different habitats of Inner Mongolia,This text is finished based on carrying on special research to Artemisia frigida willd. ,used the methods of seed biology and reproduction biology,in combination with morphology and cytological characteristics .The results show that:Measuring germination rate,vigor of germination,germination index and vigor index of seeds from different habitats,comparing the germination of the seeds under different illumination and water conditions.the germination rates of seeds which came from Xilinhot,Abagaqi Seeding and Keshiketengqi they are belong to the steppe were 86.7%,90% and 87.3% respectively;the germination rates of seeds which came from Xilinhot,Alashan and Tarr Ridge were the maximum when the percentage of water content were 20%,25% and 25% respectively;and the seeds of Artemisia frigida willd. which came from Xilinho, Abagaqi Seeding and Keshiketengqi in the steppe have highly germination ability.the seeds of Artemisia frigida willd. in different habitat showed the same trend in different covering depth, i.e the ability of germination decrease obviously as the covering depth increase.0 to 0.5 centimeter is the optimum Soil cover thickness.Through analyzing and comparing the karyotype of Artemisia frigida willd in different habitats and observing the microspore differentiation of Artemisia frigida willd, we found out that there are differences among the chromosomes of Artemisia frigida willd in different habitat.The number of chromosomes of Artemisia frigida willd that collected from Alashan,Aerial Seeding in Xilin Gol League,Xilinhot and Hohhot Daqingshan are 2n=18; while the number of chromosomes of those collected from Tarr Ridge Alex,Keshiketengqi Chifeng City,Etuoke Banner in Ordos City and Hailar are 2n=36. A. frigida Willd. collecting among alashan ZuoQi and EtuokeQi of Ordos city is Artemisia frigida var. atropurpurea, which is varietas of A. frigida Willd.,This thesis reach a conclusion that A. frigida Willd and varietas have diploid and tetraploid two ploidy.The study of microspore differentiation of Artemisia frigida willd told us: the antherwall of Artemisia frigida willd is composed of an epidermis,an endothecium,an middle lamella and an amoeboid tapetum.The development of anther wall is the basic type.The microspore mother cells in meiosis is successive and the microspore tetrads are tetrahedial and bilateral symmetry. Mature pollen grain is two celled type with three apertures(thickness increase of the exine).
