Abstract The explorative study on hard wood cutting and soft wood cutting propagation technique of Prunus besseyi was done. Through the research of different kinds of plant growth regulators, as well as different types of matrix and dip in time of the different hard wood cutting and soft wood cutting on rooting, Objective to find the main influence factor of Prunus besseyi rooting rate and the best handling combination of rooting. the results show that:(1)With the different kinds of plant growth regulator processing cuttings, the best result is dipping the cuttings in IBA 1000 mg·L-1 for 30min, rooting rate can reach 61.90%.(2)Based on matrix type test, the selection of the pure vermiculite, vermiculite and peat with mixture ratio 1:3 and vermiculite and sand with mixture ratio 3:2, under the same conditions , vermiculite and sand with mixture ratio 3:2 as the best effect, the rooting rate was higher than 62.22%.(3)IBA dip rooting cuttings of 30min general effect to dip 120min, in addition, also 120min dip the cuttings, with 120min IBA concentration increases rooting rate but also decreases, this explains dip long may discourage rooting cuttings.(4)The same concentration in the same type of plant growth regulator in the treatment of the same matrix cuttings, the rooting rate of soft wood cutting was higher than hard wood cutting, in addition, also is the hard wood cutting, under the same conditions, old trees and the younger, hard wood cutting of Prunus besseyi rooting rate is higher.
