As the important large-scale representative plant protection equipment, the boom sprayers work on the field crops, while the tunnel sprayers work on the trellis crops. The objectives of this thesis were to make the integration desion of boom structures of the boom sprayer and the tunnel sprayer, establish the boom conversion mechanism and realize the automatic conversion of boom sprayer and tunnel sprayer.By studying the operational principle and kinetics of the boom conversion mechanism and comparing the different design on the boom conversion mechanism, the truss boom conversion mechanism was selected for its better overall performance. Then the prototype of boom conversion mechanism was built in Solidworks, that the model size was determined by checking the related crop size and the similar spray equipment.The dynamic simulation of the boom conversion mechanism was conducted by ADAMS software. Firstly the constraints and driver were added to the imported boom conversion mechanism, then the model vertification command was carried out to ensure the dynamic simulation. However, the simulation was breaked off for interference, then the parameters of the boom conversion mechanism were modified to solve the problem. In the end, the simulation was successful, and the dynamic simulation result showed that the boom conversion mechanism could complete the movement of boom lift and angle change. Lastly the ADAMS/Processor was applied to transfer the simulation curve of the boom conversion mechanism for further analysing the boon conversion mechanism's dynamic performance.Finally a physical prototype of a scale-down and simplified boom conversion mechanism was built and tested to verify its feasibility of the design. The test result showed that the boom conversion mechanism could complete the movement of boom lift and angle change, so the boom sprayer and the tunnel sprayer could be transformed automatically, and the design is feasible.
