Our country is the biggest garlic production and expense country in the world, the garlic also is our country traditional large amount export product. Because excellent in quality and reasonable in price, it has already won the approval of international market. At present, the garlic in the planter, the management, the harvest and the later period processes, the mechanized level is quite low. Take the garlic which exports as the example, after the harvest the garlic fibre is removed by the manual operation primarily. The efficiency of production is low, the labor intensity is strong, and the safe protection is weak. The realization of mechanization has become the urgent demand of the agricultural production, it will have the important practical significance to research and develop one kind of equipment of the garlic fibre cutting in the factory.This paper designs one kind of equipment of the garlic fibre cutting to be practical, highly effective, and has made the detailed design through the research to the mechanism part and the control system of the equipment. The entire mechanism is altogether divided into five parts. It includes the mechanism of clamp, the feed mechanism, the turning mechanism, the transmission system and the cutting tool. The entire control system of the equipment uses the MSC-51 single chip microcomputer as the core of control system.The modeling of the part of mechanical system is completed in the software UG, and they are assembled in UG. .Then the assembly is imported to the software ADAMS, and all kinds of joints and motions are imposed on the assembly modeling. Therefore, a genuine virtual prototyping is built. At last, we may carry on each kind of movement simulation in the foundation of Virtual prototyping, and the result of the simulation will provide the basis for the design improvement of entire machine.
