Objective To investigate the expression of CyclinDl, Rb and pi6 in bladder transitional cell carcinoma (BTCC) and to evaluate their significance in the generation and progression of the tumor. Methods The expression of CyclinDl,Rb and p!6 in SOcases of BTCC was detected by immunohistochemistry. Results The positive rate of CyclinDl in BTCC(58%)was higher than that in normal mucosa (P<0. 01) while the positive rate of Rb and p!6 in BTCC was 58% and 44% respectively, which was lower than that in normal bladder mucosa (P0 01). The expression rate of CyclinDl,Rb and p!6 was decreased with the increasing of clinical stage and grade. The expression of Cyclin Dlwas not correlated to that of Rb,while the expression of Cyclin Dl and Rb was significantly correlated to that of p16(P< 0.05).Conclusions The abnormal expression of CyclinDl ,Rb and pi6 played an important role in the generation and progression of BTCC.
