Object: To observe the protect effect of Chines medicine Yi-XinKang on experimental viral myocaditis in Blab/c mice and the changes of CK, CK-MB and cTn-I level in coxsackie virus B infected myocarditis patients' serum. 'Method: 75 male Balb/c purebred mice, 5 to 6-week-old, weight 19+2g , were randomly divided into 5 groups: Yi-XinKang group(YI), Ribavirin group(RI), normal saline group(NS), normal saline control group(NSC) and blank control group (BC). Every group had 15 mice. The mice of YI, RI and NS were infected by coxsackie virus B3,(CVB3.) through abdominal cavity injection to develop animal models of experimental myocarditis in Balb/c mice, and were treated respectively by Yi-XinKang, Ribavrin and normal saline for a week. The mice of NSC were infected by MEM Eagel liquid without virus and treated by normal saline for 1 week. The blank control group wasn' t infected and treated. The other feeding conditions were same. After 7 days, all the mice were killed. Myocadiac pathologic changes were observed by light microscope and electric microscope. Thirty four myocaditis patients infected with CVB were divided into two groups: Yi-XinKang group (YI) and Riavirin group (RI). Every group had 17 patients, patients in YI group had Yi-XinKang 100ml tid po, and the patients in RI group had RibavirinO. 1, coenzyme QiolOmg , Vitamin C 0. Ig tid po for 7 days. Serum CK, CK-MB, cTn-I were measured before and after the experiment.Result: After the mice were infected for 7 days, there were not any myocadiac pathologic changes in NSC group and BC group. In normal saline group(NS), myocardium damage were obviously observed in light microscope. And the ultrastructures of the myocardium in Yi-XinKang(YI) and Ribavirin (RI) were well preserved, but YI were better than RI. In clinical practice, CK, CK-MB, cTn-I were both decreased significantly after using YI(P<0.01), RI(P<0. 01), but the difference between YI and RI was significant (P<0.05).Conclusion: Yi-XinKang can play an important role in protection of CVB3. viral myocarditis in the Balb/c mice, and it can reduce CK, CK-MB, cTn-I level in the patients serum and promote CVB to become negative.
