Objective: To study the post operational knee functional rehabilitation of the tibial plateau fracture by one time passive movement and its clinic feasibility, and discuss the principle of knee functional rehabilitation. Methods: 44 patients (Schatzke type) were divided into two groups. All patients were treated by open reduction and internal fixation (AO or Link anatomic plate). One group (20cases) was treated by the method of the active exercise, and the other (24cases) was treated by passive movement once on the basis of the active exercise during 12 to 14 days after the operation. Then we compared the knee joint function and the range of knee motion (ROM) after the follow-up for 8 months. Results: There was significant difference (P<0. 05) in the .grade of knee function and the range of knee motion between the two groups. Conclusion: Early passive motion once on the basis of the standard treatment has better effect on functional rehabilitation, and easier to be manipulated, which has obvious effect especially to the recovery of ROM.
