| Objective: To observe the clinical curative effect of treating ulcerative colitis(UC) with Qing-Kui-Tang and explore the mechanism of treating ulcerative colitis with Qing-Kui-Tang and explore the mechanism from theoretical and clinical aspects. Method: 60 cases with UC are divided into two groups at random. Qing-Kui-Tang is given treatment group, and at the same time SASP is given control group. Results: The totally effective rate of treatment group come to 93.3%, while that of control group is 70.0%, and there is a significant difference between the treatment group and control group (P<0.05). Treatment group can improve significantly the symptoms such as diarrhea, tenesmus, the scorch of anus, bellyache, abdominal distension, and the curative effect is better than that of control group. Conclusion: Qing-Kui-Tang is an safe and effective drug of treating UC, and the mechanism might be related to anti-oxygen free radicle injury, accelerating ulcerative recovery, improve systematic symptoms.
