To ascertain the change of trunk muscle performance in patients with low back pain caused by military training. The index of trunk muscle strength(PT/BW? TAE?F/E?ER)were measured in patients with low back pain(n=40) and healthy subjects (n=40) with CYBEX-6000 isokinetic testing system, the cross-sectional area of sacrospinalis were measured with ultrasonography, and the amplitude and the duration of EMG were measured with Neuromatic 2000M/C electromyography instrument, the lumbar curvature were measured in the X-ray films of the lumbar on the lateral projection on standing position, all of the indexes were compared between two groups. PT/BVV and ER of flexors were no significant difference between the patients and healthy subjects (p>0.05) , TAB of flexors in patients were lower than those of healthy subjects (p<0.05) . PT/BW and TAE of extensors in patients were lower than those of healthy subjects (p<0.05) , ER of extensors were no significant difference between the patients and healthy subjects(p>0.05).F/E in patients were greater than those of healthy subjects(p<0.05). Lumbar curvature in patients were lower than those of healthy subjects(p<0.05) . The amplitude of EMG of extensors in patients were lower than those of healthy subjects (p<0.05) , the duration of EMG of extensors inpatients were greater than those of healthy subjects ( p<0.05 ) , and attenuation degree of the amplitude of EMG of extensors in patients were greater than those of healthy subjects(p<0.05),prolonging degree of the duration of EMG of extensors in patients were greater than those of healthy subjects (p<0.05) .Cross-sectional area of sacrospinalis were no significant difference between the patients and healthy subjects ( p>0.05 ) . In patients with low back pain caused by military training, the trunk muscle strength lost balance and the lumbar curvature significantly decreased, trunk extensors strength significantly declined result in the trunk muscle strength lost balance, but the atrophy of acrospinalis were no significant; at the same time, explosive force and static endurance of trunk extensors significantly declined; ER (dynamic endurance) of trunk extensors seem not to be related to LBP. And base on this conclusion, the intervene of fieldwork were carried on and had the results. Compared with the comparison group, the rate of low back pain caused by military training of exercise group was significantly reduced(exercise group 8.93%, comparison group 17.01%, p<0. 01). It hinted that the exercise of increasing the trunk extensors strength may be reduced the rate of low back pain caused by military training.
