Study On The Correlation Between The P73, P21~(WAF1/CIP1), CyclinD1 And Laryngeal Squamous Cell Carcinoma

Objective:To study the correlation between the expression status of the P73, P21WAF1/CIP1,CyclinD1 and the laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma(LSCC).Method:20 untreated primary squamous carcinomas and matched paracancer tissues were detected by RT-PCR and inimunohistochemistry.20 polyp of vocal cord samples also were detected by immunohistochemistry.Result:1)In LSCC samples and paracancer samples, the positive rate of P73 mRNA was 90%(18/20), 85%(17/20) respectively(P>0.05); P21WAF1/CIP1 mRNA was 45%(9/20), 85% (17/20)respectively (P<0.05); CyclinD1 mRNA was 85% (17/20),40%(8/20)respectively(P <0.05).2)In LSCC samples, paracancer samples and polyp of vocal cord samples ,the positive rate of P73 protein was 75%(15/20), 50%(10/20),55%(11/20)respectively(P>0.05); P21WAF1/CIP1 protein was 35%(7/20), 70%(14/20),30%(6/20) respectively (P<0.05); CyclinD1 protein was 50%(10/20), 20%(4/20), 75%(15/20) respectively(P< 0.05); 3) No correlation was found between either two groups of P73 , P21WAF1/CIP1 and CyclinD1 ;4)The positive expression of P73 had no relation with clinicopathological significance of LSCC.The positive rate of P21WAF1/CIP1 in high pathological grade LSCC was lower than low grade LSCC(P<0.05) .A significant association between the expression status of CyclinDi and TNM was found. Conclusion: Our study shows that 1)P73 plays a minor role in LSCC;2) P21WAF1/CIP1 and CyclinDi contribut to the carcinogenesis of larynx.
