Objective To research the effects of GbE on plasma Lysophosphatidic Acid and Phosphatidic Acid Concentration by detecfing the value of plasma LPA and PA concentration in rats with cerebral thrombosis before and after using GbE. Methods Cerebral thrombosis rats model were produced through injecting thrombin into the internal carotid artery (ICA) by introducing a catheter. 30 Wistar rats were divided into 5 groups randomly(Control group, Shamoperation group, Experiment group, GbE group and Placebo group respectively),each has 6 rats. Observe the changes of plasma LPA and PA of all the rats in each group. The degree of the impairment of neural function was scored and the histological changes were evaluated using light microscopy. Results The concentration of plasma LPA and PA in control group were low(2.41±0.17μmol/L, 3.77±0.28μmol/L respectively) and in rats of experiment group were high(12.47±1.65μmol/L,10.51±0.73μmol/L respectively). The concentration of plasma LPA and PA had significant differences between the two groups(P﹤0.05). The rats in GbE group were instilled GbE into the stomach before the surgery ,then the concentration of plasma LPA and PA decreased markedly(4.79±0.62μmol/L, 5.06±0.12μmol/L respectively) and had significant difference compared with the experiment group(P﹤0.05). There were no significant differences between placebo group and experiment group. Conclusions The concentration of plasma LPA and PA increase in experimental rats with cerebral thrombosis. Instilling GbE into the stomach of the rats could decrease the concentration of plasma LPA and at the same time increase plasma PA slightly. GbE inhibits the increase of plasma LPA maybe one of the ways to prevent the assembly of platelets.
