Study Of TN-C Expression In BTCC

Objective To investigate TN-C expression in BTCC, especially its expression in the tumor tissue and paratumor tissue. To evaluate TN-C in the early stage and recurrence of BTCC.and flow-up of postoperation .Methods Three groups of samples were used in this study, which were obtained from tumor tissue, paratumor tissue and normal bladder tissue respectively. The samples were harvested during three operations: the open operation of bladder,biopsy and TURBT. The fifty samples were tested with RT-PCR technique to observe the expression of TN-C protein in different tissue of bladder. TN-C's expression was tested with half-volume technique and associated statistical analysis was done between this expression and traditional pathological levels of bladder tumor. Results The expression of TN-C in tumor tissue and paratumor tissue of BTCC was significantly up regulated, there was no significant different between the two groups, while there was no expression or very little expression in normal bladder tissues. The expression of TN-C has closely correlation with traditional degree of tumor cell differentiation of BTCC( I, II ,III).the higher grade was, the more TN-C expression was. Conclusions: As a very significant clinical value in early diagnosis of BTCC, Tenascin-C also plays an help important role in early diagnosis of BTCC recurrence, It is helpful to estimate the prognosis of patients and choice of right treatment plan. This role becomes even much more significant considering that TURBT technique is extensively applied clinically. TN-C is a sensitive value in early diagnosis of BTCC and is closely associated with the tumor cell differential grades. With this character, TN-C could be useful to evaluate prognosis and choice of treatment methods.
