Objectives Endometriosis is a kind of common diseases among child-bearing age women, however it seens to difficult to be overcome up to now. In the recent years, incidence of the endometriosis sends up rising trend. The etiological mechenism for the endometriosis could be complicated, and it may be still not very clear at present, so also haven't ideal therapeutic effect. Therefore,we evaluate Fas,c-myc and VEGF, TGF-β1 expression in ectopic endometrium from women of Uygurs and Hans nationality with endometriosis to explore possibility for the mechanism of the endometriosis,. Method Fas,c-myc genes and VEGF,TGF-β1 expression were examined in eutopic ,ectopic from patients with EMs women and without EMs,Ugyurs (30 controls and 30cases) and Hans (32 controls and 30 cases) using immunohistochemical staining. Results Fas and c-myc immunoreactivity was found predominately in the glandular cells,c-myc expression in ectopic, eutopic endometrium with EMs(59.38%,30%in Hans and46.67%in Uygurs) was significantly increased compared with no EMs(0 in Hans and 0 in Uygurs) (P<0.01).Fas expression in eutopic, ectopic endometrium(43.33%, 15.63% in Hans and 33.33% in Uygurs) was decreased compared with no EMs(50%in Hans and 60% in Uygurs) (P<0.05) No statistically significant difference were found in the expression of Fas and c-myc between Hans and Uygurs(P>0.05). VEGF expression in ectopic, eutopic endometrium with EMs(71.88%,23.33% in Hans and 66.67% in Uygurs) was significantly increased compared with no EMs(0 in Hans and 6.67% in Uygurs) (P<0.01), and TGF- β1 expression in ectopic, eutopic endometrium with EMs(59.38%,33.33%in Hans and 66.67%in Uygurs) was also significantly increased compared with no EMs(0 in Hans and 3.33% in Uygurs) (P<0.01). No statistically significant difference were found in the expression of VEGF and TGF- β1 between Hans and Uygurs. The expression of VEGF had positive correlation with that of TGF- β1 (P>0.01). Conclusions The expression of apoptotic genes were different in eutopic ,ectopic from EMs and no EMs,The expression of promoting apoptotic genes was decreased and restraining apoptptic genes was increased ,which could bear implications for the growth and survival of ectopic endometrial tissue. VEGF and TGF- β1 expression with EMs was significantly increased compared with no EMs The results indicated that VEGF and TGF- β1 might play an important role in the pathbgenesis and development of EMs. No statistically significant difference were found in the expression of Fas,c-myc and VEGF,TGF-β1 between Hans and Uygurs.
