Objective: To investigate the relationship between the expression of PTTG, c-myc and their role in occurrence and development of primary lung carcinoma. Methods:The expression of PTTG and c-myc was detected immunohistochemistrically by PowerVision ? -9000 method in 53 patients with pulmonary carcinoma and 19 cases of noemal lung tissue ( NLT) .Results: l.There was an extensive expression of PTTG and c-myc in nucleus and cytoplasm of tumor cells (TC) .They were also existed less in normal lung tissue. 2. The postive rate of PTTG and c-myc was 71.6%,58.5% in TC and was 10.52%,15.79% in normal lung tissue. There was a significant differenc betwtween TC and NLT(X2=21.22, 10.25; P=0.0032, 0.0085). 3.No significance was found between the expression of PTTG and c-myc in age groups(X2=0.048,1.51; P=0.26, 0.76) and gender groups (X2=2.78,0.40;P=l.45,0.37). Difference was also not found in groups of pathological tapes(P=l, P=l) and tumor size (P=l,0.23). 4.The expression of PTTG and c-myc in TC was both correlated with differentiated degree of lung cancer (P=0.0038,0.03). 5. In lung carcinoma with lymph node metastasis ,the positive rate of PTTG and c-myc was 88.4%,70.2% and was 57.2%, 43.1% respectively in groups without lymph node metastasis. There was a significant difference between the two groups (X2=4.19,7.14;P=0.027,0.041). 6.The expression of PTTG and c-myc in lung cascinoma had a striking positive correlation (r=0.41,X2=8.73,P<0.01). Conclusion: 1.The postive rate of PTTG and c-myc in lung carcinoma was higher than that in normal lung tissue indicated that both were participated in occurrence of lung carcinoma. 2.Both PTTG and c-myc were correlated with differentiation of TC and lymph node metastasis suggested they may involve in the development of lung carcinoma. 3.PTTG and c-myc were positive correlated in TC implied they were coordinated in occurrence and development of lung carcinoma. 4.Detecting both of them would be favower of the early diagnosis and evaluating...
