The Correlative Study Of The Npt,LDH And β₂-MG Expression With The Clinical Features Of The Patients With Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma

Objective To explore the relationship between the experimental parameters including the neopterin(Npt) , lactate dehydrogenase(LDH) and β₂-microglobulin ( β₂-MG) concentrations in serum or urine and the clinical status, therapeutic effect,prognosis of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma(NHL). Methods Levels of Npt , LDH and β₂-MG expression in the serum and urine collected from 32 patients with NHL at pre- and post-chemotherapy were measured by ELISA , biochemistry analysis meter and RIA. The relationship between the concerntrations of the Npt,LDH, β₂-MG in serum or urine and the clinical status , therapeutic effect of follow-up in NHL cases were analysed .Results (1) The results indicated that the serum or urine Npt levels and serum LDH, β₂-MG concentrations of post-chemotherapy were lower than those of pre-chemotherapy(P<0.05).(2)The serum or urine Npt levels and serum LDH, β_-MG concentrations of pre- and post-chemotherapy in CR+PR patients were lower than that's in NC+PD patients (P<0.05). But the coeffcient of variation in every index was different. Among them, theserum LDH concerntration was the highest, while the urine Npt level was the lowest.(3)The correlative analysis of the serum and urine Npt levels between pre- and post-chemotherapy, indicated that the coefficient of r value correlation pre- chemotherapy was 0.80 and it was 0.82 post-chemotherapy(P<0.05).(4)Serum or urine Npt levels and serum LDH, β 2-MG concemtrations of pre-chemotherapy in different degree of malignancy with NHL patients were different. Serum or urine Npt levels were different between low-grades middle-grade and high grade(P<0.05).Serum LDH, β 2-MG concemtrations between low grade and middle grade were no difference(P>0.05),but they were different between high grade and middle grade, low grade(P<0.05).(5)Serum or urine Npt levels and serum LDH, β₂ -MG concemtrations of pre-chemotherapy in stage III+IV were higher than those in stage I + II (PO.05).Conclusions (1) Since recent years, Npt has been monitored as an important tumor associated index on abroad. In home, our research data to detect the expression of Npt in non-Hodgkin's lymphoma patients by ELISA suggested that the expression of Npt has the value of judging prognosis and guiding treatment. (2) Not only pre- chemotherapy but also post-chemotherapy ,serum and urine Npt levels were high correlation. Because the assay of Npt from the urine was more convenient than that from the serum,measure urine Npt level by ELISA was more useful in clinicalwork.(3) Combined detection of serum or urine Npt levels and serum LDH, ï¿¡ 2-MG concemtrations pre-chemotherapy might be helpful to judge the degrees of malignancy and prognosis of NHL patients and has feasible clinical value. (4)Combined detection of serum or urine Npt levels and serum LDH, ï¿¡ 2-MG concemtrations could judge more rightly.
