ObjectiveTo study the relationship between the level of leptin, adiponectin, superoxide dismutase(SOD), blood insulin, blood glucose, blood fat, blood pressure, insulin resistance index , body mass index, waist circumference and accumulation of phlegmatic hygrosis in metabolic syndrome, to discuss the significance of accumulation of phlegmatic hygrosis in treatment based on syndrome differentiation of metabolic syndrome, in order to find the objective evidence of differentiation of symptoms and signs of traditional Chinese medicine of metabolic syndrome and to guide clinic treatment better. Methods49 cases of metabolic syndrome were divided into accumulation of phlegmatic hygrosis group and non- accumulation of phlegmatic hygrosis group according to symptom, pulse tracings and tongue demonstration. There are 25 cases in the accumulation of phlegmatic hygrosis group and 24 cases in the non- accumulation of phlegmatic hygrosis group. Body height, body weight and waist circumference of the patients were measured. The level of leptin, adiponectin, superoxide dismutase(SOD), blood insulin, blood glucose, blood fat, blood pressure of the patients were checked. Calculate the body mass index and insulin resistance index. The differences of all the indexes in the two groups were compared. Analysis the dependability between leptin, adiponectin and other indexes. In addition, leptin, adiponectin and superoxide dismutase of 20 persons who were healthy were checked and compared with the two groups of metabolic syndrome. ResultsThe level of leptin of the two groups of metabolic syndrome is significantly higher than those of the healthy persons. The levels of adiponectin and superoxide dismutase of the two groups of metabolic syndrome is significantly lower than that of the healthy persons .The levels of leptin, fasting plasma insulin , insulin resistance index, body mass index and systolic blood pressure of the patients in the accumulation of phlegmatic hygrosis group are higher than in the non- accumulation of phlegmatic hygrosis group. The level of adiponectin of the patients in the accumulation of phlegmatic hygrosis group is lower than that in the non- accumulation of phlegmatic hygrosis group. There is positive correlation between the level of leptin and insulin resistance index, systolic blood pressure and negative correlation between adiponectin and insulin resistance index, systolic blood pressure. Cone I us i onThere is high level of leptin and low level of adiponectin in the patients of metabolic syndrome. Accumulation of phlegmatic hygrosis is important in the differentiation of symptoms and signs in metabolic syndrome. There is close relationship between accumulation of phlegmatic hygrosis and the level of leptin, adiponectin, fasting plasma insulin , insulin resistance index, body mass index and systolic blood pressure. The level of leptin, adiponectin, fasting plasma insulin , insulin resistance index, body mass index and systolic blood pressure can be the objective evidence of differentiation of symptoms and signs of accumulation of phlegmatic hygrosis and the appraisement of curative of accumulation of phlegmatic hygrosis.
