Objective: to study the expression of vascular endothelial growth factor C(VEGF-C) and its receptor Vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 3(VEGFR-3) in colorectal carcinoma and its relation with lymph node metastasis.Methode:The specimens were taken from 56 patients with primary colorectal cancer in the second affiliated hospital of Nan Chang university in 2005. 20 adenoma specimens were used as control. We studied the expression of VEGF-C protein VEGFR-3 protein and CD34 protein in colorectal cancer and adenoma by immunohistochemistry.Results:1)The expressions of VEGF-C and VEGFR-3 in colorectal cancer and adenomaBe staining with its polyclonal antibody, VEGF-C antigen was observed in cytoplasm and membranous of cancer cells. VEGFR-3 antigen was observed in cancer cells and lymph vessels. The expression of VEGF-C protein and VEGFR-3 protein is significantly higher then that in controls.there is correlated expression between VEGF-C protein and VEGFR-3 protein. The expression of VEGF-C protein and VEGFR-3 protein in lymph node metastasis group is significantly higher than that in no-lymph node metastasis group. The expression of VEGF-C and VEGFR-3 are not correlated with the age of patient the gender of patient...
