[Objective]To investigate the correlations between the expression of c-FLIP and TGF-β1 in the tissue of larynx squamous carcinoma and prognostic factors including pathological grade, clinical typing, clinical stage, cervical lymph node metastasis as well as the expressive relationship between c-FLIP and TGF-β1 in the tissue of larynx squamous carcinoma.[Method]We selected 30 patients of larynx squamous carcinoma who had been operated in the Zhongda hospital affiliated to Southeast university from 2001 to 2005.The range of their age is from 33 to 75,and their average age is 57.They are all male patients. They had not received any radiotherapy before their operations. We selected the tissue of tumor of each patient as the experimental group and the normal larynx tissue of the same patient as the control group. We measured the expression of c-FLIP and TGF-β1 in the two groups by means of immunohistochemistry and measured the expression of c-FLIPmRNA in the two groups by means of RT-PCR.[Result]There are eighteen samples which express c-FLIPmRNA in the experimental group. There are only three samples which express c-FLIPmRNA in the control group. The expression of c-FLIPmRNA is significantly associated with clinical stage, pathological grade and cervical lymph node metastasis. The expressive rates of c-FLIP and TGF-β1 are 44.87% and 48.56% in the experimental group, respectively. The expressive rates of the two cytokines are 8.63% and 8.25% in the control group, respectively. The expression of the two cytokines is significantly associated with clinical stage, pathological grade and cervical lymph node metastasis, but we find no significant correlation exists between the expression of the two cytokines and clinical typing.[Conclusion]The expression of c-FLIP and TGF-β1 is significantly higher in the tissue of larynx squamous carcinoma than that in the normal larynx tissue. The expression of the two cytokines in the tissue of larynx squamous carcinoma is significantly correlated with some clinicopathological indexes of the tumor. The two cytokines might participate in the occurrence and the development of larynx...
