Studies On Chemical Constituents In Peels Of Longan

Dimocarpus Longan Lour is a kinds of famous fruit in China.It has been planting in China for more than two thousand years.There is abundant of Dimocarpus Longan Lour is growed in the south and southeast part of China.so the resource of Longan is very rich in China.At present, the scholars are mainly aimed at chemical constituents,nutritional constituents and their pharmacological actions of the pulp of longan;And there are some reports at chemical constituents,nutritional constituents and mineral constituents of the seeds of longan;But there is a little reports in chemical constituents of the peel's longan.Only a paper reported that one compound is extracted and purify from the peels of longan.This paper is to introduce my research on chemical constituents of the peels of Longan at the following two parts:1 Product is extracted from peels of longan fruits by boiling water, collected by macroreticular resin; eluted by 70% EtOH, refined by anhydrous alcohol. Refined product hydrolyse by the ratio of hydrochloric acid and water 1:1 in boling Methanol.Use the technique of RP-HPLC,a kind of flavonol named quercetin was first found exist in the hydrolysate by their retention times.And then separated the hydrolysate by ethyl acetate extracted.(Ethyl acetate extracted is part I and the remain is part II).Quercetin was separatered from the part I by means of silica gel column chromatography separation and re-crystallization purification.The results confirmed that the peel's chemical constituents of Longan contained flavonoids;One compound is obtain from part II though silica gel column chromatography separation and re-crystallization purification , Though Infrared Absorption Sepectrometry and Nuclear Magnetic Resonarce spectrum analyse, Its structure was identified m ethy l ga llate.
