As commonly used herbs, S. miltiorrhiza Bge. have a long historyin Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). The crud drugs of Salviamiltiorrhiza Bunge (Danshen) and related plants have effects on removingstasis and alleviate pain, promoting blood circulation andpromotingmenstruation, clearing away heart-fire to relieve vexation. Insouthwest china, there are abundant salvia resource in this region,and thereare about 33 salvia medical plants are habitually used as local species usingas Danshe,such as S. przewalskii Maxim, S. digitaloidites Diels, S.yunnanensis C.H.Wright, S. trijuge Diel and S. bowleyana Dunn.In this paper, the raw resources of Salviae on west Sichuan" and Yunnanprovince are researched,S, miltiorrhiza Bunge; S. digitaloidites Diels; S.przewalskii Maxim; S. subpalmatinervis Stibal; S. tro'uge Diels;S. przewalslkiivar. mandrinorum (Diels) Stib; S. castana Diels; S. roborowsikk Maxim;S.flava Forre; S. sikkimensis Peter; S. yunnanensis C.H.Wright; S. wardiiPeter-Stib; S. prattii Hemsl, including living environments, producing areas,botanical origins, external structures and characters.Through low-pressure LC, centrifugal TLC and spectroscopicdetermination etc., six compounds were isolated from root of S. miltiorrhiza Bunge, The structures ofthese compounds were elucidated by spectralanalysis. The structures identified as tanshinoneⅡA,tanshinoneⅠ,clyptotanshinon 1, rosmarinciacid, salvianolic acidB,β-Sitosterol.HPLC/UV is used to establish the finger print spectrum for differentsalvia species.HPLC was achieved with the two parts of water-solubilityand lipophilic compounds respectivitily, and the mobile phase was withgradient elution. The stability, precision, reproducibility and the recoverywere within there quirement. The scientific foundation was provided toevaluate the quality of medicinal materials more accurately and generally.HPLC is applied to determine the water-solubility and lipophiliccompounds respectively contents in salvia of different species and differentcollecting times,it indicated that there are difference in different species. Theresult indicates that there is no relativaly relationship in the the content ofwater-solubility and lipophilic compoundsAs paper reported, salvianolic acid B is instability,and it cantranslate into danshensu, In this paper the stability of salvianolic acid B isreserched in differrent extractable conditian ,such as the differrent solvent,the differrent method, the differrent pH, and the quantitative changerelationgship was invested with pyrogenation test, the result indicated thatsalvianolic acid B was most instabilitable in the basic condition.
