Effect On Multi-Indexes In Lung Function By The Method Of "Bututongqiao" In The Patients With Perennial Allergic Rhinitis

Purpose:To observe the effects of symptoms,signs and lung function in patients with perennial allergic rhinitis(PAR) by the method of "BUTUTONGQIAO",and to study the therapeutic mechanism from the objective evidence of the conclusions for guiding clinical practice.Method:1.Based on the strict diagnostic criteria,the exclusion and inclusion criteria and evaluating criteria,30 patients of PAR were treated by the method of "BUTUTONGQIAO" and 30 healthy people as the control group.2.30 patients with PAR are treated by acupuncture on the points Yingxiang(LI20,double), Hegu(LI4,double) and moxibustion on the Zusanli(ST36,double),as for the patient of deficiency of kidney-yang,do warm moxibustion on Guangyuan(CV4) for 30 minutes, once every two day,two courses for 20 times.3.Measure the items on before and after the two courses of treatment respectively as follows:①Syndromes Investigation:to adopt the scoring methods of symptoms and signs with the certain standard scoring table of symptoms and classifying table of signs for the patients,on the day before and after the two courses of treatment respectively,②Signs Investigation:the mucoma visibility,swelling or hyperemia conditions,or gloyp and polypoid change in the inferior and middle nasal conchas,nasal septum,etc with a nasal endoscope on the day before and after the two courses of treatment respectively,③Test of the lung functiaon on the previous day before and after the two courses of treatment respectively.4.Test of the lung function of the 30 healthy peopleResults:1.The main symptoms and signs of patients are sneeze,discharge,nasal obstruction,nasal itching,pale and swelling nasal macosa before treatment.2.As for therapeutic effect,the symptoms and signs were greatly different before and after treatment,scoring decreased greatly.(P＜0.01,P＜0.01).By the statistic,the markedly effective rate is60.00%,the effective rate is 36.67%and the total effective rate is 96.67% after treatment. 3.Before the treatment,the patients' basic indexes of lung functiong were significantly lower than the control group(P＜0.05).Conclusion:1.The method of "BUTUTONGQIAO" can recover obviously the allergic rhinitis patients' symptoms and signs,enhance the patients' ability to avoid the disease recurreney.2.Not only the allergic rhinitis patients' symptoms and signs but aslo the basic indexes of the lung function improve by the method of "BUTUTONGQIAO".3.Although there are no such asthmatic symptoms and signs in those patients,the lung function could be changed.4.The result confirms the theory of linking among "nose-lung-middle-warmer(spleen and stomach)" in TCM.And the method is meaningful for finding the point which may make relation between traditional Chinese medicine and modern medicine.
