Objective: This study mainly proves that Sanyinjiao (SP6) has relative specificity of treatment effect on primary dysmenorrhea, provides evidence for the theory of acupoint specificity, and briefly analyses the mechanism of Sanyinjiao (SP6) on primary dysmenorrheal.Methods:41cases of patients with primary dysmenorrhea were divided into 4 groups at random. Among the 41 cases, there were 10 cases in the Sanyinjiao (SP6) group, 12 cases in the Xuanzhong (GB39) group, 9 cases in the non-acupoint group. The patients in the above there groups were given acupuncture treatment. 10 cases in the control group and no treatment was provided. We observed the changes of VAS (Visual Analogue Scale) and resistive index (RI), the ratio of systolic peak and diastolic peak (S/D) of volunteers'uterine artery flow of the 4 groups when 10 minutes later after acupuncture was given and compared the differences between the 4 groups. Conclusion: VAS,RI and S/D decreased greatly and the uterine artery flow speeded up obviously in the Sanyinjiao (SP6) group and there was no obvious change in the other groups. The result shows Sanyinjiao (SP6) was superior to Xuanzhong (GB39) group, non-acupoint group and control group in improving the uterine artery flow of the patients with primary dysmenorrhea (PD). And we can conclude that there is acupoint specificity between acuponts, acuponts and non-acupoints. It also proves that acupoint specificity has a close relationship with meridians.
