Objective:1. To study the microstructural changes of villi and ultrastructural changes of syncytiotrophoblast cell and vascular endothelial cell in placenta of pregnant women with hypertensivedisorders complicating pregnancy(HDCP) and to make clear the microstructural changes in placenta of HDCP.2.To evaluate the expression of p- p38 MAPK(phosphorylated p38 mitogen activated protein kinase) and TNF-α(tumor necrosis factor alpha)in placenta of pregnant women with hypertensive disorders complicating pregnancy(HDCP) and to analyze the relationship of their expression. We tried to clarify the reason of HDCP.Methods: 1. Morphologic changes of placenta were analyzed by means of HE staining. We revealed the microstructural changes in 30 cases of placenta from normal mature pregnancy and 56 cases of placenta from pregnancy complicated withHDCP.2. Immunohistochemistry was employed on group of HDCP(56cases)and control group(30cases) to show the location ,distribution, quantity and interaction of p-p38MAPK and TNF-α.Results: 1.Proliferation of cytotrophoblastic cells, nodule of syncytiotrophoblast and fibrinoid necrosis were much more frequently seen in HDCP group.2.Expression of p-p38MAPK and TNF-αcould be observed in each group, but their quantities in study group were significantly higher than in control group (p<0.05). Quantities of p-p38MAPK and TNF-αincreased in accordance with the severity of HDCP. Correlation analyses showed p-p38MAPK had a positive correlation with TNF-αin the group of preeclampsia(r=0.507,p<0.05 and r=0.648,p<0.01).Conclusions: By some direct or indirect ways, p-p38MAPK and TNF-αmay interact with each other, contributing to the pathological changes of HDCP. By way of studying on p-p38MAPK and TNF-α,new ways may be found to deal with HDCP.
