Objective To study diagnosis and treatment of hepatic cavernous hemangioma.Methods Clinical treatment of 118 cases of hemangioma was analyzed retrospectively,including partial hepatectomy in 68 cases,suture ligation in 15 cases,hepatic embolization performed in 12 cases,Follow up to make a definite diagnosis in 23 cases.Follow up was made from six months to 5 years.Results Partial hepatectomy has a recurernce rate of 5.8 % in 5 years. Suture ligation was found with recurernce rate of 40 % for 5 years. Hepatic artery embolization failed tohamper the growth of hemangiomas in 50 % of the 12 cases.Conclusion Partial hepatectomy is the treatment of choice for patients suffering from a single huge hemangioma.
