Abstract/Summary:
ObjectiveThe aim of this study is to detect the expressions of PTEN protein and CD44V6 through immunohistochemistry method in laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma tissue and adjacent carcinoma tissue .To ascertain the clinical significance of PTEN protein and CD44V6 in laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma patients.MethodsThe expressions of PTEN protein and CD44V6 were detected by the immunohistochemical S-P method in 97 specimens with laryngeal carcinoma,97 specimens having a distance over 2.5 centimeter from laryngeal carcinoma. Find the relations between them and reveal their clinical significance to the laryngeal Squamous Cell carcinoma above Glottis by the statistical analyses tools.Results1.The positive expression rates of PTEN protein were respectively 44.33%,100% in laryngeal carcinoma and adjacent carcinoma tissue. There was a significant difference between them in statistical viewpoint (P<0.001).2.The positive expression rates of PTEN protein are notable difference among the high ,middle and low differentiation of laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma(P<0.05). There were no statistical sense difference not only among the different type of laryngeal carcinoma,but also between the positive metastasis of Lymph node of neck and the negative one.3.The positive expression rates of CD44V6 are notable difference among the high ,middle and low differentiation of laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma(P<0.05).It exists difference between the T1 and T2,T1 and T3,T1 and T4,T2 and T3 but not between T3 and T4. The positive expression rates of CD44V6 are also notable difference between the positive metastasis of Lymph node of neck and the negative one(P<0.001). 4.The low expressions of PTEN protein and the high expression of CD44V6 in the same carcinoma cell has no significant negative correlation(P>0.05)。5.The positive percentage of PTEN protein and CD44V6 have no obvious correlations with patients sex and age(P>0.05).Conclusion1.PTEN protein is closely related to the degree of laryngeal Squamous Cell Carcinoma above Glottis differentiation. The lower its positive expression, the lower the degree of differentiation.2.PTEN protein have no correlation with patients, gender and age.It also has nothing to do with the growth of cancer tissue and the metastasis of neck lymph node.3.The expression rates of CD44V6 affects many aspects of laryngeal carcinoma including growth,invasion,and the metastasis of neck lymph node.The higher expression of it,the lower differentiation and more malignant.Meanwhile, the higher expression also indicates that prone to the metastasis of neck lymph node.4.The expression of CD44V6 has no correlation with patients, gender and age.5.The low expressions of PTEN protein and the high expression of CD44V6 have no significant correlation. The detection of both may give us many important information about those patients.Besides,they would become the new targets for biotherapy.
