Objective:To investigate the expressions, relationships and clinical significance of OPN and CD44v6 in laryngeal squamous cell carcinomas (LSCC).Method:Immunohistochemical technology(EliVision two steps) was applied to detect the expressions of OPN and CD44v6proteins in 44 cases of LSCC tissue and 10 cases of the tumor adjacent tissue, and to study the relationships of OPN and CD44V6 proteins expressions with clinical features in patients with LSCC,the correlation of two proteins expressions was also analyzed.Rusult:â‘ The positive rates of OPN (75.0%,33/44) and CD44v6 (68.2%,30/44) in LSCC tissue were respectively higher than that in the tumor adjacent tissue( 30.0%,3/10),(20.0%,2/10),P <0.05,respectively;â‘¡The positive rate of OPN was significantly correlated with the clinical staging, the pathological grading, the metastasis to cervical lymph node( P <0.05,respectively),the positive rate of CD44v6 was correlated with the clinical staging, the pathological grading, the metastasis to cervical lymph node ( P <0.05),but the positive rates of OPN and CD44v6 were not correlated with patient's age, sex, tumor location ( P >0.05,respectively).â‘¢The expression of OPN was positively correlated with CD44V6 in LSCC (rs = 0.584,P <0.01).Conclusion:The over-expression of OPN and CD44v6 were correlated with occurence and development of LSCC,OPN may promote the development in LSCC by up-regulating the expression of CD44V6,It is suggested that OPN and CD44v6 can be a useful marker for predicting tumorigenesis and metastasis potential of LSCC.
