ObjectiveThis controlled study was to compare the clinical efficacy, side effects, clinical symptom and quality of life of modified DCF regimen(mDCF regimen,CF+5-FU+Docetaxel+ Cisplatin)plus Kang'ai injection and mDCF chemotherapy regimen alone,to evaluate the clinical value of Kang'ai injection combined with mDCF regimen for advanced gastric cancer patients.Material and MethodsSixty patients with advanced gastric cancer were divided into treating group and controlled group. Each group 30 patients. To the treating group,in the same time of applying mDCF regimen,60ml of Kang'ai injection was given intravenously by dissolving in 250ml of glucose injection per day for 10 successive days. while to the controlled group, only mDCF regimen was given. mDCF chemotherapy regimen was:CF200mg/m2 ivgtt(Dl,2),5-FU 2.0g/m2 civ for 48h,Docetaxel 50mg/m2 ivgtt(Dl),Cisplatin 25mg/m2 ivgtt(D2,3),every 2 weeks for 1 cycle, administrated two cycles. The efficacy, adverse effects, clinical symptom, quality of life of the two groups were evaluated.ResultsAll 60 patients received 2 cycles of chemotherapy and were evaluated. 1 .The response rates of the treating group and the controlled group were 40%(12/30)and 33.3%(10/30) respectively(P>0.05).There was no statistically significant difference between the two groups. 2.The rate of the adverse effects such as neutropenia and vomit was significantly lower in the treating group than in the controlled group(P<0.05).3.While the clinical symptom was significantly improved in the treating group as compared with the controlled group, the rates of improvement were 76.7% and 50.0%.respectively(P<0.05).4. The improving rate of KPS was signifieantly higher in the treating group than in the controlled group(40.0% vs 10.0%,P<0.05).The decrease rates of body weight was statistically different between the two groups. The rates were 13.3% and 53.3%.respectively(P<0.05).Conclusion1. mDCF regimen combined with Kang'ai injection can relieve adverse effects, improve clinical symptom and the quality of life. 2. mDCF regimen combined with Kang'ai injection cannot increase response rate for advanced gastric cancer patients when compared with chemotherapy alone for advanced gastric cancer patients.3. Kang'ai injection hasn't obvious adverse effects and it is used safely.
