Observation Of Kang'ai-injection On Quality Of Life In Patients With Breast Cancer After Chemotherapy

Objective: To observe the efficacy of Kang'ai-injection on quality of life in patients with Breast Cancer who after ch emotherapy.Methods: 60 female patients with Breast Cancer who had an o peration already were selected from December 2015 to Decemb er 2016.Eligibility criteria were an Eastern Cooperative On cology Group(ECOG)performance status of 0-1,no chemotherap y contraindications,nearly normal blood routine liver and renal and heart function before chemotherapy.We randomly divided 60 patients into the control group(30 cases)and th e observation group(30 cases)by the random number.There w as no significant difference in stage,molecular typing and age(P>0.05).The control group received only chemotherapy containing THP and CTX.The observation group received Kan g'ai-injection(60ml/d,qd,intravenous drop infusion,14 da ys)at the 3rd before chemotherapy.Both two groups convent ionally received the treatment of antiemetic(tropisetron),stomach protection(pantoprazole)and liver protection(glu tathione).Blood routine,heart function,liver function and renal function were tested at the 10 th day after chemothera py to evaluate adverse reactions.Patients completed the Eur opean Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer(EO RTC)quality of life questionnaire Core30(QLQ-C30)before chemotherapy and at the 10 th day after chemotherapy to asse ss and compare quality of life.Results:(1)Comparison of the control group before and aft er chemotherapy:The scores of emotional functioning after t reatment was lower than that before treatment(77.56±19.16 VS 70.12±16.20,P=0.023).The scores of fatigue,Sleeping disturbances,appetite loss and nausea and vomiting after tr eatment were obviously higher than that before treatment(30.16±17.14 VS 41.56±19.12,P=0.019;16.14±22.45 VS 25.34±23.12,P=0.017;20.56±10.17 VS 33.78±14.25,P=0.012;11.12±18.36 VS 27.78±20.16,P<0.000)?(2)Comparison o f the observation group before and after chemotherapy:The s cores of physical functioning and global quality of life af ter treatment were higher than that before treatment(62.13±22.56 VS 57.12±21.36,P=0.035;61.41±23.56 VS 51.12±24.36,P=0.022).The scores of fatigue was lower than that b efore treatment(26.23±16.25 VS 32.23±15.54,P=0.028).T he scores of appetite loss and Nausea and vomiting were obv iously higher than that before(27.21±13.26 VS 20.14±12.10,P=0.025;18.65±21.34 VS 10.56±19.78,P=0.031)?(3)Comparison of the two groups after treatment:The scores of global health status and physical functioning in the observ ation group were higher than that in the control group(61.41±23.56 VS 57.38±26.56,P=0.041;62.13±22.56 VS 55.86±23.42,P=0.038).The scores of fatigue,appetite loss,nausea and vomiting in the observation group were lower than that in the control group(26.23±16.25 VS 41.56±19.12,P=0.013;27.21±13.26 VS 33.78±14.25,P=0.008;18.65±21.34 VS 27.78±20.16,P=0.011)?(4)The occurrence rate of ?II°leucopenia in the control group was higher than that in the observation group(43.3% VS 13.3%,P=0.037).The occ urrence rate of ?I°liver function damage were higher than that in the observation group(40.0% VS 16.7%,P=0.045)?Conclusion:Kang'ai-injection could improve physical functi oning and globe health domains of the patient after chemoth erapy containing THP and CTX,relieve symptoms such as fati gue,nausea and vomiting.Although it would cause or aggrava te symptoms such as nausea and vomiting,symptoms were ligh ter than the control group.Furthermore,Kang'ai-injection could decrease the occurrence rate of ?II°leucopenia and ?II°liver function damage after chemotherapy.Kang'ai-in jection could mitigate the adverse reaction,and improve th e quality of life of patients.
