Background:Obesity is a multifactorial disease that concerned with genetic factors, metabolism, behavior factor and so on. Obesity is not only the signs of physical changes that can also increase morbidity and mortality of related non-communicable metabolic diseases such as hypertension, arteriosclerosis, coronary heart disease, cerebrovascular accident, and metabolic disorders syndrome such as lipid metabolism, type 2 diabetes, gout, et al. Abdominal fat deposition in the internal organs are more likely to make people suffering from these diseases mentioned. In recent years, with the people's standard of living increased quickly, obesity rates are rapidly rising trend. With obesity and related disease morbidity of rising obesity, how effective prevention obesity has become a recent clinical medical research hotspot. Compared with other weight loss, acupuncture weight loss have fewer side effects, low bounce rate, a significant effect and so on. Therefore, it is accepted by the public.Research Purpose:In summing up order on the basis of previous clinical studies, research design followed the principles of DME on the electro-acupuncture, acupoint catgut implantation for central obesity a randomized controlled clinical study to evaluate the treatment of three different clinical effect of abdominal obesity. Try to make the acupuncture treatment of abdominal obesity schemes standard in the study, evaluate its effectiveness and safety scientifically and systematically, and provide the clinical application of acupuncture treatment of central obesity with standard treatments. Methods:By adopting prospective random control trial, we take 90 patients of central obesity from out-patient department of acupuncture as the object of study, which are randomly divided into three groups, the EA group, catgut embedding group and EA+catgut implantation group, and then analysis and observe patient's body mass index (BMI), weight, waist and hip circumference before and after the treatment, to investigate the electro-acupuncture, acupoint catgut embedding on the impact of abdominal obesity. Results:After eight weeks, respectively, before and after treatment for three groups of body weight, body mass index, waist circumference, hip circumference, waist-hip ratio were analyzed statistically, the results showed that three groups are effective treatment of central obesity. Before and after treatment, except hip circumference, the other indicators have a statistically significant difference. Efficacy in reducing body weight, electro-acupuncture+catgut implantation group was significantly better than the EA group (P<0.01), and better than catgut embedding group (P<0.05), while the EA group and the catgut embedding group to reduce body weight no significant difference in efficacy (P> 0.05). Efficacy in reducing the waist area, electro-acupuncture+catgut implantation group was significantly better than the EA group (P<0.05); the efficacy of catgut implantation group and the EA group have no significant difference in efficacy (P>0.05), so do the efficacy of catgut implantation group and electro-acupuncture+catgut implantation group. Three groups had no significant improvement in hip function (P> 0.05). To improve the waist to hip ratio, the electric acupuncture+ catgut implantation group was significantly better than the EA group and the catgut implantation group (P<0.01), electro-acupuncture group and the catgut embedding group no significant difference (P> 0.05). In body mass index (BMI) improvement, EA+catgut implantation group was significantly better than the EA group (P<0.01), while embedding group was also superior to the EA group (P<0.05), while the buried EA+ points line group and the embedding was no significant difference between groups. EA+catgut implantation group was significantly higher than the EA group (P<0.01), also higher than catgut embedding group (P<0.05), while the EA group and the embedding group, the total efficiency was not significantly different (P> 0.05).Conclusions:Three groups can be an effective treatment of central obesity, can improve body mass index (BMI), weight, waist circumference, waist-hip ratio. EA+catgut embedding group are more efficient than electric acupuncture group and the catgut implantation group, the efficacy of acupoint catgut implantation group and the EA group was not significantly different.
