Clinical Research Of Treating Allergic Rhinitis With High Intensity Focused Ultrasound Under Nasal Endoscope

Objective:To observe the therapeutic effect of High Intensity Focused Ultrasound in treating allergic rhinitis. Method:Two hundred and twenty patients with allergic rhinitis, according to the Chinese Lanzhou diagnostic criteria of allergic rhinitis (2004), were treated by the CZB ultrasound therapeutic system which was developed and produced by Chongqing Haifu(HIFU) Technology Co.Ltd, Chongqing China. It was used to scan bilateral inferior turbinate, the front of middle turbinate, agger nasi and the anterosuperior part of nasal septum under nasal endoscopy. The therapeutic effect was evaluated by clinical symptoms controlled counting-scores, according to the Chinese Lanzhou principle of treatment and commendation program for allergic rhinitis(2004). Result:Patients were followed up 3 months,6 months,12 months,18 months for efficacy evaluation. The excellent effective rate was 150/220 cases(68.2%), effective rate was 52/220 cases(23.6%), ineffective rate was 18/220 cases(8.2%), and the total effective rate was 91.8% after 3 months follow up. The excellent effective rate was 117/193 cases(60.6%), effective rate was 48/193 cases(24.9%), ineffective rate was 28/193 cases(14.5%), and the total effective rate was 85.5% after 6 months follow up. The excellent effective rate was 59/107 cases(55.1%), effective rate was 19/107 cases(17.8%), ineffective rate was 29/107 cases(27.1%), and the total effective rate was 72.9% after 12 months follow up. The excellent effective rate was 18/34 cases(52.9%), effective rate was 7/34 cases(20.6%), ineffective rate was 9/34 cases(26.5%), and the total effective rate was 73.5% after 18 months follow up. Conclusion:The High Intensity Focused Ultrasound is effective, Non-invasive, repetitive in treating allergic rhinitis.
