Objective: To study the effect of 2,3,5,4′-tetrahydroxystilbene-2-O-β-D-glucoside on expression of adhesion molecules P-selectin, E-selectin, ICAM-1, VCAM-1 and MCP-1 induced by H2O2 on human umbilical vein endothelial cells. Methods: The expression of P-selectin, E-selectin, ICAM-1, VCAM-1, MCP-1 mRNA and protein were detected by reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) respectively. Results: Treated endothelial cells with 200μmol/L H2O2, the expression of E-selectin, P-selectin, VCAM-1, ICAM-1, MCP-1 mRNA and protein level was significant higher (P<0.01). TSG pretreatment endothelial cells for 4h before treated with 200μmol/L H2O2, results show that TSG can inhibit the expression of P-selectin, E-selectin, ICAM-1, VCAM-1, MCP-1 mRNA and protein level induced by H2O2 on endothelial cells (P<0.05).Conclusions: TSG can inhibit the expression of adhesion molecules induced by H2O2 on human umbilical vein endothelial cells.
