| Objects:The research assess the clinical efficacy of Wumei Wan on UC, discuss the possible mechanisms through clinical research, which going to provide new effective drugs. Methods:1.Targetsinthis Project were selected from the inpatients in Xinjiang Hospital of Chinese medicine between July, 2009-Jananary,2010. All cases were confirmed by electronic colonoceopy. According to syndrome differentiation of TCM,all of them were typified to 3 types: endoretention of damp heat, the spleen and stomach feeble, asdthenic splenonephro-yang. According to the random order by attendance,there were randomly divided into treatment group with 18 members and control group with 17 members. There were no significant differences in the gender composition, age, duration regard between these two groups. 2.The treatment group were given Wumei Wan 200ml twice a day for two weeks, the control group they were asked to take SASP 4 times a day,2-3g a time. Which lasted for 3 treatments and 2weeks for each treatment, with stop 2 days between each treatment. Results:After the course of treatment the two groups were conducted of observation, including clinical general effect, change of TCM syndrome, change of main clinical symptom (diarrhea, hematochezia, abdominal pain), therapeutic effect of mucous membrane under endoscope, therapeutic effect of mucous membrane under microscope, and adverse effect. After the 3 treatments, compare the change of TCM syndrome, main clinical symptom of the two group there is no statistic significant difference. About the clinical general therapeutic effect and the change of mucous membrane under endoscope, although there is no statistic significant difference. Conclusion:The therapeutic effect of Wumei Wan was better than SASP, especially in the main clinical symptom, and showed its superiority in the betterment of living quality. Compared with western medicine, it had no obvious ill-effect.
