Objective: The present study used three depressive disorder college students as subjects to explore the critical factor of treatment of depression in students and test and verify that the metacognitive intervention method is suitable way for treatment of college student depression. Methods: It used metacognitive intervention to intervene college students'depressive disorders. And it used Hamilton Rating Scale for Depression (HAMD), Symptom (SCL-90)Rating Scale and Subjective Symptom Evaluation Table created as tool to test the effects of the treatment. On the condition of single subject or small N in experimental research, applying Multiple-baseline design, implement intervention on depressive disorder with metacognition intervention to assess the changes of indicators in the process of experiment and test the long-term effects. Results: All indicators of the three subjects in the baseline observation are stable. After interventions, 3 subjects'depression experience, interpersonal sensitivity experience, learning efficiency and sleep disorder evaluation generally reduce and remained stable; the declined rate of the HAMD total scores are more than 50%, the effective rate of the psychological intervention is 100%, and 2 cases of them were completely cured (post-treatment HAMD total scores are less than or equal with 8); depression factor of SCL -90 were reduced to below the threshold, and showed no symptoms of depression. There was no evidence of recurrence after eight months'return visiting. Conclusion: The results support the assumptions that intervening on conditional emotion is the key factor of treatment of depressive disorder. And metacognitive intervention is effective on the treatment of students'depressive disorder, and it is difficult to recur.
