Objective: Based on predecessors'validity of treating on social anxiety disorder using Meta-cognition Intervention Technique, verified its validity further, and the differences of the treatment effect on Social Anxiety Disorder between Meta-cognition Intervention Technique and Systematic Desensitization are discussed.Methods: 12 Social Anxiety Disorder clients were randomly allocated to Meta-cognition Intervention Technique group(Group A) and Systematic Desensitization group(Group B) in chronological order who came to Liaoning Normal University psychological consultation center for help and met criteria of the research from 2007.12.6 to 2009.9.14. Both groups were arranged in 6 clients. The validity of Meta-cognition Intervention Technique is verified through analyzing clients'score differences of SCL-90 and LSAS before and after treatment, and Multiple Baseline diagram. The differences between Meta-cognition Intervention Technique and Systematic Desensitization are analyzed through W-test. The Duration of treatment, emotional expression in treatment, emotional expression in social interaction, degree of initiative and confidence satisfaction in social interaction are included.Results: The scores in SCL-90 of clients in Group A in the post-treatment and tracing period are all below division criteria, total scores in LSAS are below 38. The degree of satisfaction in social interaction rises up rapidly and becomes relatively stable after intervention. The W-tests in the five items including duration of treatment, emotional expression in treatment, emotional expression in social interaction, degree of initiative and confidence satisfaction in social interaction differs significantly between Group A and B.Conclusion: Tests with SCL-90,LSAS to Group A after treatment and in follow-up period both indicate no symptoms, refers that using Meta-cognition Intervention Technique to treat Social Anxiety Disorder is effective and promising. Results of W-tests indicate that the duration of Meta-cognition Intervention Technique is much shorter than Systematic Desensitization, client can have a good emotional expression in the treatment and social interaction scenes, and feel more initiative and confidence satisfaction.
