The Enlightenment Of Dunhuang Fresco Color Research In Sui-Tang Dynasties To Modern Color Design

The main theme of this study is about Dunhuang fresco color. which is in Sui-Tang dynasties. It tries to make a traditional color database to guide the modern design. The article starts with the different social background and artistic achievement of fresco, and gives a general explanation of the fresco color in those three periods. The key of this article is Part IV of Chapter3, which got the reasoning data conclusion, based on choosing color cards from the pictures and other resource of Dunhuang fresco, and contrasting color codes by using the NCS analysis instruments. It summarized the representative dominant color of the traditional fresco art and made generalization of color match from those data conclusions. Meanwhile, it also provided some intuitive and easy-use reference material and data for modern design, and made a valuable attempts and explorations in the process of modern color design.
