There are large numbers of quantifiers in the Chinese language but no such category in English. Even though, there're still many words play the role of quantifiers and in this article we also call them quantifiers. There are many sililars between Chineseand English on scalar, but precisely more similars between ancient Chinese and English than modern Chinese and English. In the article, we analyze the usage of ancient Chinese quantifiers and modern Chinese quantifiers. After that, we make a comparison between English quantifiers bewteen English quantifiers respectly. We get a conclusion that:both ancient Chinese and modern Chinese have many similarities with English on scalar. However modern Chinese have changed that more differences appear between Chinese and English. That because the development of Chinese made individual classifiers so active that "N+Q+N" (number+quantifier+noun) replace "N+N" (number+noun) and "N+N+Q (number+noun+quantifer). So far, there are many articles on comparison between Chinese and English quantifers, but rarely on scalar, much less ancient Chinese and English scalar. In this article we make the comparison between Chiners and English scalar and explain why there are similars and differences. We expect that it will be helpful to those who want to learn these two languages.
