Grammata Serica Recensa,as Bernhard Karlgren's study epitomize in Shanggu Pronunciation, completely reflects its presence in the ancient Chinese study of the various Pronunciation theory. In particular, the "Xiesheng Principle" and the "initial consonant cluster" provide an important academic value for the related fields of study. In a brief introduction to Grammata Serica Recensa, the article analyzes Karlgren's Xiesheng Principle in detail, and uses Xiesheng Principle to reconstruct Shanggu single consonant and initial consonant cluster.Meanwhile,it focuses on Karlgren's Xiesheng Principle,15 fragmented single consonants,"ABC 3-type structure", which is used to explain the phenomenon of special xiesheng and the feasibility of 29 initial consonant clusters as well as academic-related disputes exist and deepening the development. In a word, we attempt to make an objective assessment evaluation of Karlgren's archaic Chinese phonemes research results,by studying the Grammata Serica Recensa; we do our best to outline the history of study in archaic Chinese phonemes,by studying the Shanggu consonant; we try to explore more scientific methods of Shanggu consonant's study, in which Shanggu consonant field of study could be more extensive and deeper.
