Analysis Of Present Situation Of Chinese Education In Bandung, Indonesia

Indonesia is the destination country of the first Chinese immigrants, and also one of the countries with most Chinese population. Indonesian Chinese education has 300 years history. At that time, The Chinese and Indonesian live in harmony. Though they don't have special school, but they have the non-governmental running academy. In 1690, Indonesian Chinese have their first academy. In 1901, the first Chinese school was founded, called "Bacheng Chinese school hall". Chinese education in 1957 had their peak period, and they have lots of school and students. But in 1965 they began to enter the dark ages; the Indonesian government banned Chinese education up till 30 years later, in 1998 lifted.In 2000, Indonesian Chinese education began to grow. Lots of Chinese teenagers have the desire to learn Chinese. In recent years, the number of the Indonesian interested in study Chinese have increase tendency. This phenomenon attracted the attention of some scholars. They have done some research on present situation of Chinese education. Their research basically concentrated in Chinese education history and present situation of Chinese teachers, teaching methods and policy. The research basically concentrated at the Indonesian developed area.Bandung has a lot of Chinese residential, but up till now hasn't seen any research achievements in Chinese education. According to my predecessors'research results and base on their achievements reference, also using documentary research, questionnaire and interview research methods, I summarizes Bandung Chinese education situation, choose ABA International college for study case, analyzes college present situation, find out the school problems and put forward the countermeasures to solve it.
