Cross-culture communication has been managing all over the world with the inter-culture understanding. Nonverbal communication is taking a certain part in cross-cultural communication. In nonverbal communication, body language is the important component. In different cultures, the meaning of body language differs a lot. Therefore, in some kind of verbal communication at the same time, we still need to know the speaker's gestures, movements and expressions etc the implications of body language, such ability to make communication smooth, appropriate. So this paper studies under different cultural background of body language interpretation and proper use of accurate with certain application value.This research is divided into four chapters; each chapter main contents are as follows:The first chapter is introduction. Firstly it introduces to choose a background and reasons, points out the body language in cross-cultural communication and the importance of the teaching Chinese as a foreign language; Then summarized the research situation of the domestic and foreign relevant; Finally, pointed out this research contents, methods and innovative points.The second chapter is body language of the definition, characteristics, classification and function. First it defines "body language" this concept; And then expounds the characteristics of body language, and then from the "body language", "from" and "body touch" research in body language are classified; At last, the paper introduces the main function of body language "(SMS) function", "supplement emphasize function" and "regulate atmosphere function".The third chapter is cross-cultural background analysis of the differences of body language. First it defines "cross-cultural communication" this concept. Then from "nation", "social" and "age" for typical body language in three aspects:the difference is introduced and analyzed.The fourth chapter is body language in the application in teaching Chinese as a foreign language. This chapter combines with examples of teaching Chinese as a foreign language, the application of body language. First emphasized in teaching some principles in the application; based on the teaching practice, puts forward some teaching Suggestions.Finally it's the conclusion. Article summarizes main conclusion, and summarizes the study still save insufficiency, the author expounded future research work.
