A Study On The Psychological Verbs Relevant To Emotion In Shiji

As an important small classes of the verbs, psychological verbs has its own characteristics in semantics and syntax aspects.The psychological verbs relevant to emotion are an important constituent of the psychological verbs. Shiji recorded the history of 3000 years between the Yellow Emperor and Emperor Wu of Western Han, and has abundant psychological verbs. This paper attempts to describe and analy the psychological verbs relevant to emotion in Shiji, reveals the basic features and characteristics by the method of combining traditional exegesis study and modern semantics, Semantic grammar study and psychological theory, quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis. It provides certain reference for further research of psychological verbs and the psychological verbs relevant to emotion.This paper is divided into four parts:The introduction, this paper briefly introduces the research situation of the psychological verbs and the psychological verbs relevant to emotion , the reasons of choosing the topic, the research content and method of this paper.The first chapter, identify the definition of the psychological verbs relevant to emotion, draw the psychological verbs relevant to emotion in Shiji. According to semantics, emotional nature, the quantity of the syllable, this chapter rates the psychological verbs relevant to emotion in Shiji, and show us the whole composition of the psychological verbs relevant to emotion in Shiji.In the second chapter, first, according to semantics,we divide the psychological verbs relevant to emotion into 18 classes , which include hobby classes, respect classes, joy classes pity classes, worry classes, resentment classes, anger classes, guilt classes, humiliation classes sorrow classes, fear classes, hate classes, envy classes, arrogance classes, annoyance classes surprise classes, impatience classes. Then, we analy these the psychological verbs relevant to emotion in depth. In the last, we statistics and analy their grammatical function.In the concluding paragraphs,we sum up five features of the psychological verbs relevant to emotion in Shiji.They have semantic bipolarity, inequality of the distribution and middleweight sex. Most of them can be modified by adverbs of degree.Their lexical meaning restrict their grammatical meaning and grammar function.
