Psychological Verbs Of Bianwen Study

The psychological verbs are used to express person's psychological activity, however, the scholars always defined it with inconsistent category when they did the research of psychological verbs. From the present research situation, we can discover that the scholars mostly concentrate on studying the psychology verbs of Modern Chinese and seldom involved in the ones of Ancient Chinese. Therefore, it is necessary to perform a more thorough and extensive research about the psychology verb in ancient Chinese.This article depicts the psychological verbs in Dun-huang Bian-wen , then defines and classifies the psychological verbs from the psychological view. We divide the psychological verbs into the emotional psychological verbs, the cognitive psychological verbs and the volitive psychological verb. After analyzing the material, we discover that the higher-level psychological activities are, the fewer related psychological verbs are.Dun-huang Bian-wen is rich in disyllabic psychological verbs, by studying the structure and the meaning of these disyllabic verbs, we discover that, regardless of either sides, the disyllabic psychological verbs have a stronger reliance on the monosyllabic psychological verb. Although the development from monosyllabic verbs to disyllabic verbs is embodied in structure, the development takes the meaning as the link all the way.The psychological verb has its own semantic characteristic as a special sort of the verb, such as: Experience, illegibility, stability and direct-viewing. There are many synonymous psychological verbs in Dun-huang Bian-wen, we chose two groups which express "know" and "afraid" to differentiate and analyze.In the last part of this paper, the psychological verbs of Dun-huang Bian-wen are been compared with the ones in pre-Qin ancient books: "Xun-zi" and "Lie-zi" .Then we briefly discuss the development tendency of the psychological verbs in Dun-huang Bian-wen ,that is the number of the verbs which have the same sense will reduce and the monosyllabic verbs will develop to disyllabic verbs.
