With the globalization, the communication of economy and culture among different countries has become more frequent. Translation, as a means of communication and medium, plays an important role in this process. It is well known that language is part of culture and the carrier of culture as well. They are interdependent. Translation not only involves the transfer between two languages but also the transfer between two cultures and thinking patterns. Owing to the influence and restriction of cultural factors in translation, translators must overcome the obstacles brought by both language and culture. The two translation strategies under the two cultural backgrounds, namely domestication and foreignization, are becoming the current research topics among scholars. This thesis combined with the text type theory, analyses the choice of translation strategies in business text translation from the perspective of culture construction. Through the analysis of the examples of English business text, this thesis proves that in different texts, the proportion of domestication and foreignization is different. During translation, we should take all the factors in the specific texts into consideration. Translators should give a dialectical consideration concerning the two strategies and explore the regular pattern of language translation with culture elements for dealing with culture factors successfully.
