Study On Marcuse's One-dimensionality Theory

Marcuse is the most radical person of Frankfua School. He devotes to social critical theory in his whole life, which includes politics, philosophy, psychology, sociology and so on. One-dimensionality theory is an important part of Marcuse's social critical theory. Exposing capitalist society from all respects, there are some new characteristics in present capitalist society. Alienation exists widely in our lives, science and technology became the new form of control, man became a one-dimensional man, the society became a one-dimensional society. The theory has very bright characteristics, for example, his theory changes pessimism from optimism, non-rationalism from rationalism. Independent principle is so important from the begging to the end. The magnification of technical critique is obvious. On the basis of analyzing one- dimensionality theory, I sum up some deficiencies, but it does not decrese the positive functions. Studying on one-dimensionality theory, has so many meanings for China's development.
