After the Second World War, the flourishing western capitalism society got its fast development of the productive forces and science, as well as the plenty of material products. The perfect combination of the spirit and material in the total was taken place by the single material prosperous. One aspect of human being--the spiritual world faded into one-dimensional existence .As a famous representative of Frank school thought, Marcuse was not indulged in the superficial prosperous of the western civilization as the other scholars. On the contrary, he stood the opposition with his heroism to rescue the world and attitude to seek for human emancipation. He fully accepted, explained and supplemented the existence thoughts of Heidegger, Marx, Hegel and Freud. He exposed and criticized the modern western industrial society from such aspects as the constitution of human repressed psychology and the feature and its manifestation of the sickly society. He advocated the psychological instinct revolution by a method of refusal in order to emancipate the people from repression. The liberation of Eros was the last goal of his criticism theory. His social critical theory had much drawback and great Utopia because of the period he lived and the limitation of his own thoughts. But his critical theory was on the opposite of the capitalism society, so it can give us important enlightenment and advice.
