The Study Of Natural Disasters And Society Deals In Henan During The Period Of The Republic

During the Republic of China era, frequent natural disasters in Henan Province caused massive losses in social and economic way. With dialectical materialism and historical materialism, this paper gives an outline of and analytical studies of these natural disasters' causes through academic knowledge and research methodology from Sociology science, history, geography, disaster science and so forth primarily on natural and social factors. Frequent natural hazards caused a very serious impact over Henan Province: destruction of agricultural production, huge threat to social stability, and deterioration of ecological environment. In the face of all these, the local Government has accordingly taken a series of steps: precaution, contingent disaster relief, remedial works after disasters. At the same time, non-governmental forces also taken part in tasks of disaster relief, and to a certainty, they played an active role in social issues of Henan Province in the Republic of China era, which filled gaps of the governmental relief works.
