Yan Lianke plays a significant part in the history of the Chinese modern literature. In the 20 years of his career, he creates over 20 novels and an additional hundred or so short stories, which attract the widespread attention of readers and critics. However, the critics focus more on issues like topics, images and narrative techniques while the women with distinctive characters are ignored.This essay is divided into four chapters. The women in his works are classified in Chapter One. The second chapter explores the tragic implication of them. Chapter Three discusses the causes of their tragedy. The fourth chapter focuses on the causes of the images.The first chapter of the work by Yan in the women's image for the system to type in order, the second chapter to explore the image of the tragic implication of these women, the third chapter of the tragedy caused by the image of the root causes of these women, the fourth chapter focuses on the causes of these images.In general, the female images are the core of this essay.
